Eat Off the Land

“We don’t have to live like the pioneers and eat only the well-known survival staples. Instead, we could be like traditional Native Americans and eat off the land!”

FAQ

❓What is Eat Off the Land about?

Answer: It’s a survivalist foraging cookbook that teaches you how to identify wild edibles, preserve food, and cook off-grid meals using Pacific Northwest plants, mushrooms, fish, and wild game. It blends traditional knowledge with modern preparedness.

Is this only for people in the Pacific Northwest?

Answer:

While the identification guides focus on how plants appear in the PNW (Alaska, Oregon, Washington, etc.), most of the featured wild foods are found across North America and other temperate climates. The recipes and techniques can be adapted to your region.

Can I use this book if I’m new to foraging?

Answer: Yes! This book is designed for beginners and seasoned foragers alike. You’ll find full-color diagrams, simple field tips, and beginner-friendly preservation methods—even if you’ve never foraged before.

What formats is the book available in?

Answer: Eat Off the Land will be available in two formats: Paperback – Available for preorder now here. E-Book – Will be available for download directly from this website by October 15th. Signed paperback copies will likely be available in the future, but that option hasn’t been activated yet. Stay tuned or sign up for updates to be notified when signed editions launch.

When will my book ship?

Answer: The official release date is October 15th. Paperback preorders placed through this website will ship shortly after. If signed copies become available, those may take an additional 1–2 weeks for personalization and shipping.

❓ Are there recipes for meat eaters, vegetarians, or both?

Answer: Both! Eat Off the Land includes hearty wild game meals, foraged plant-based recipes, and versatile preservation methods so you can adapt to your lifestyle—whether you’re omnivorous, vegetarian, or somewhere in between.

❓ Is this a prepper book or a nature guide?

Answer: It’s both. This book teaches practical survival skills (like fire cooking and off-grid food prep) while honoring Indigenous and sustainable practices. It’s perfect for homesteaders, hikers, survivalists, and anyone wanting to reconnect with the land.

❓ Is this suitable for kids or families?

Answer: Yes! Many of the recipes are simple enough to make together, and the foraging info includes tips on ethical harvesting and safety—which makes it a great resource for teaching kids about wild food in a hands-on way.
